01Who we are

Business with AI LLC ("Business with AI", "we", "us", "our") runs the website at businesswithai.com, the free daily Business with AI newsletter, and the paid product we call the Vault. We are the company responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

You can reach us about anything on this page at support@businesswithai.com.

02What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, subscribe to the newsletter, buy the Vault, or use your account, and what we do with it. It applies to everything at businesswithai.com and to the emails we send you.

It does not cover other companies' websites, products, or tools that you choose to use alongside ours, including AI tools like Claude, payment processors, or hosting providers you sign up for yourself. Those companies have their own privacy policies.

03What we collect

Information you give us

• Your email address, when you subscribe to the free newsletter. The signup form on our pages is provided by beehiiv, the service that sends the newsletter, so your address goes to beehiiv as well as to us.
• Your name and email address, when you buy the Vault or one of our add-on products.
• Your payment details, which you enter into a checkout form provided by Stripe. Stripe processes the payment. We never receive or store your full card number, and we cannot see it.
• Your account details, which are your email address and the password you set. Passwords are stored in a scrambled form by our database provider and cannot be read by us.
• What you tell us in messages, when you email support or reply to one of our emails.

Information about how you use the Vault

Once you have an account, we store the things that make the product work across your devices and remember where you left off:

• Ideas you save, and whether you have marked one as considering, building, or launched.
• Your answers to the idea quiz and the results it produced for you.
• Which steps of a build or launch plan you have ticked off.
• Which of the short walkthroughs you have already seen.
• Your purchase record: what you bought, the amount, the currency, the date, and the reference numbers Stripe gives us for the payment, the customer, and any subscription.

Information we collect automatically

• Technical information from your visit, collected by our hosting provider in its ordinary server logs. This includes your IP address, the type of browser and device you are using, the pages you requested, and the time of the request.
• Where you came from. When you arrive from an ad, a link, or a newsletter issue, we store the campaign details in the address of that link (the utm values and the campaign, ad set, and ad identifiers), the click identifier Meta adds to its ad links, the website that referred you, the first page you landed on, and a random identifier for your browser. This is kept in a cookie set by our own site for 90 days, and it is attached to your purchase record if you buy, so we can tell which ads and which issues actually pay for themselves.
• Email engagement. beehiiv records whether our newsletter emails were delivered, opened, and clicked, so we know what people read and whether our email is reaching inboxes.

Information we get from other companies

• Stripe confirms your payment and tells us the name and email you used, the amount and currency, the status of any subscription, and its own reference numbers.
• beehiiv tells us the status of a newsletter subscription, so we know whether someone is subscribed and, for buyers, so we can stop selling the Vault to people who already own it.

04How we use it

We use personal information to:

• Send the newsletter you subscribed to.
• Take payment, create your account, and give you access to what you bought.
• Send the emails that come with a purchase, such as your receipt, your access details, and a download link for a product you bought.
• Run the product: saving your ideas, remembering your progress, and keeping you signed in.
• Answer your questions and provide support.
• Understand what works: which pages, ads, and newsletter issues bring people in, and which parts of the Vault get used.
• Advertise, including measuring the results of our ads and showing them to people likely to be interested. See Advertising and measurement below.
• Keep the site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
• Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

If you are covered by the UK or EU data protection rules, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (delivering the Vault and running your account), your consent (the newsletter and advertising cookies, which you can withdraw at any time), our legitimate interests (running, securing, and improving the business, and measuring our marketing), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

05Cookies and similar technology

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We keep ours to a minimum, and here is the full list of what we use them for.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the sign-in cookies will stop the Vault from working, since it will not be able to keep you signed in. Blocking the rest only affects our measurement and advertising.

Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts. When they do, Google receives your IP address as part of that request.

06Advertising and measurement

We advertise, mostly on Meta's platforms (Facebook and Instagram). Two things follow from that.

First, when you click one of our ads, the link carries a click identifier and campaign details, and we store them as described above so we can see which ads produce subscribers and sales. Second, we use Meta's advertising and measurement tools, which may set cookies on your browser and report back to Meta that a visit, a signup, or a purchase happened. We may also give Meta a scrambled (hashed) version of a customer's email address so we can reach similar people, and so we can stop showing ads for something you already bought.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some US state privacy laws define "sale" and "targeted advertising" broadly enough that our use of these advertising tools can count as a sale or a share of personal information. You have the right to opt out, and we honor that:

• Email support@businesswithai.com with the subject "Opt out of targeted advertising" and we will remove you from advertising audiences and stop sharing your information for that purpose.
• If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out for that browser.
• You can also control what Meta shows you in your Meta account's ad settings.

We do not use your information to make decisions about you that have a legal or similarly significant effect, and we do not profile you for that purpose.

07Who we share it with

We share personal information with the companies that run parts of our business for us. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job, and each has its own privacy policy:

• Stripe, to take and manage payments. Privacy policy
• Supabase, which hosts our database and runs accounts and sign-in. Privacy policy
• Vercel, which hosts the website. Privacy policy
• beehiiv, which stores our subscriber list and sends the newsletter. Privacy policy
• Resend, which sends account and purchase emails. Privacy policy
• Cloudflare, which runs the bot check on the newsletter signup form. Privacy policy
• Meta, for advertising and measurement, as described above. Privacy policy
• Google, which serves the fonts our pages use. Privacy policy

We also share information when the law requires it, such as responding to a valid legal request, and when we need to establish or defend legal claims, prevent fraud, or protect someone's safety. If the business is ever sold or merged, customer information would transfer as part of it, and we would tell you before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.

Nobody else gets your personal information. We do not rent or sell our list.

08How long we keep it

• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again by mistake.
• Accounts and what is in them: while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove it and the saved ideas, quiz results, and progress attached to it.
• Purchase and payment records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is generally seven years, even after an account is closed. Stripe keeps its own records under its own policy.
• Attribution information: 90 days in your browser. Where it has been attached to a purchase, it stays with that purchase record.
• Server logs: a short period, set by our hosting provider, and used for security and troubleshooting.
• Support emails: while they are useful for supporting you, and then deleted in the ordinary course.

09How we protect it

The site runs over an encrypted connection. Passwords are scrambled by our database provider and are not readable by us. Our database restricts every account to its own rows, so one customer cannot read another's data. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe, which is certified to the payment card industry's security standard. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it.

No website or company can promise perfect security. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

10Your privacy rights

Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to:

• Confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you access to it.
• Give you a copy in a portable format.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete your information and close your account.
• Stop using your information for targeted advertising.
• Stop emailing you.

Email support@businesswithai.com from the address you signed up or bought with, or tell us which address to look up. We may need to verify who you are before we act, which usually means confirming you control the email address on the account. Using these rights costs nothing and will never get you worse service or a worse price.

If you live in Virginia

The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act gives you the rights above, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We will respond within 45 days, and we may extend that once by a further 45 days if the request is complex, in which case we will tell you why.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer or emailing support@businesswithai.com with the subject "Privacy appeal". We will respond to the appeal within 60 days. If the appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to the Virginia Attorney General at oag.state.va.us/consumer-protection.

If you live in another US state

States including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, and Utah give their residents similar rights. We apply the rights above to everyone, so you can make the same requests in the same way. California residents may also use an authorized agent, and have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising their rights.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area

You also have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, to ask us to restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, and in the UK to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

11Your email choices

Every newsletter and marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click stops them. We will still send you the emails that are part of something you bought, such as a receipt, an access link, or an important notice about your account, because those are not marketing.

12Children

Our newsletter and the Vault are meant for adults running or starting a business. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email support@businesswithai.com and we will delete it.

13Other sites and tools

The newsletter and the Vault link out to other websites, and the build plans point you to tools you sign up for yourself, such as an AI coding assistant, a payment processor, or a hosting provider. Once you leave our site or create an account with one of those companies, their privacy policy governs what happens to your information. We have no control over it and are not responsible for it, so it is worth reading theirs before you sign up.

14Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States and our service providers store and process information there. If you use our site from another country, you are sending your information to the United States, where privacy laws differ from your own. Where information moves out of the UK or the European Economic Area, our providers rely on the standard contractual clauses approved for that purpose.

15Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when what we do changes, and the date at the top will always say when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will tell subscribers and customers by email before it takes effect.
